XX9TXN to put Macau on the air October 23-29 with low-band focus

XX9TXN Macau QRV Oct 23-29

Macau will be on the air in late October, with a special emphasis on the low bands. Alberto, VR2XAN (IV3TAN), told DX-World he will operate as XX9TXN from October 23 to 29, 2026.

He plans to run SSB, CW and FT8 on all bands from 160 through 6 meters, with most of his attention on the low bands. Low-band contacts with East Asia are a tougher proposition for most North American stations than daytime high-band QSOs, so a station concentrating on 160, 80 and 40 meters gives chasers a useful shot at filling band slots for this entity.

XX9TXN will also take part in the CQ World Wide DX SSB contest, which falls inside the operating window. Contest weekend usually brings plenty of activity and short exchanges, which can make for a quick contact if you can hear him through the crowd.
