V73KW on CW and FT8 from Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

V73KW on from Kwajalein, Marshall Islands

The Marshall Islands can turn up in the log on CW and FT8, thanks to Don, KW7R, who signs V73KW from Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific. DX-World reports that he first became active from the atoll in October 2024 and is stationed there on and off for the coming years.

His on-air time is limited by other commitments, so V73KW is a spare-time operation rather than a scheduled DXpedition. When he is free, he works various bands on CW and FT8. Kwajalein counts for IOTA OC-028, which also makes him useful to island chasers.

Because there is no fixed schedule, the practical approach is to watch the DX cluster and spotting networks for V73KW and listen in the CW and FT8 portions of the bands when he is spotted. From the continental US the Marshall Islands sit far out in the Pacific, so the band and time of day matter. QSL route details were not included in the material available to us.
